Electric linear actuators for home automation
Hey everyone, I’m thinking about automating a few things around my house, like windows, hidden cabinets, and maybe even a secret compartment in my living room. I’ve seen some DIY setups with actuators, but I’m not sure how feasible it is for home use. Has anyone actually tried using electric linear actuators for this kind of stuff? Yeah, I’ve played around with a few home automation projects myself. The actuator is strong enough to handle the weight and smooth enough to avoid jerky movements. I also added one to a hidden bookshelf compartment, and it opens quietly at the push of a button. Just make sure you match the actuator’s stroke and load specs to whatever you’re moving.
